Amelia’s Closet to hold Third Annual Fashion Competition Fundraiser
Murfreesboro, TN – January 15, 2025 – Amelia’s Closet will hold its third annual fashion design competition fundraiser, Project ReStyle 2.0, on Tuesday, April 29, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Liberty’s Station, 850 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN.
“We have labeled this event Project ReStyle 2.0 because we have made some exciting changes to the event format this year,” said Amelia’s Closet’s founding executive director Jody Powers. “We have also quadrupled the number of possible competition entrants, expanding the opportunity for even more exciting design submissions.”
“The gently-used clothing generously provided by our donors inspired this competition,” Powers explained. “Competition entrants will use elements from existing clothing pieces to create a new high-fashion ensemble.”
In addition to evaluating the design competition outfits, attendees will engage with area fashion experts, including professional stylist Lexi Hawkins, at exciting styling stations to explore the latest accessorizing tips. “We want to give our attendees the opportunity to have fun enhancing their own fashion look,” Powers said.
The event will also include a silent auction, door prizes, hors d’oeuvres and signature mocktail by Tasty Table, and an expanded version of the popular Amelia’s Closet Pop-Up Boutique for attendees to shop for beautiful fashion bargains.
Project Restyle 2.0 is being held at Liberty’s Station, a social enterprise of Amelia’s Closet. Liberty’s Station is a community-funded cafe and venue that is dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities or other employment obstacles through a variety of paid job training internships.
“We are so grateful for the community’s support of Project ReStyle 2.0,” Powers said, “and look forward to another year of supporting the women in need in our community.”
Event tickets must be purchased in advance and are $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP. VIP admission includes a swag bag and an early arrival time to pre-shop. For tickets and design competition entry information, please visit https://bit.ly/ProjectRestyle20
