Amelia’s Closet Apparel Donation Guidelines
YOUR GENEROSITY IS APPRECIATED:
Due to limited space, we are very specific about the items we can accept: New or less than 3 years old, up-to-date styles, clean in appearance and smell, pressed and on hangers. Conservative and professional are key. Skirts/dresses should be at least knee length and tops should not be sheer, nor necklines lower than a hand-width from the collar bone. Items should be easily interchangeable and free from needing mending.
Donations are accepted any Tuesday 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at 810 NW Broad St. on the right side of Jackson Heights Plaza.
PREFERRED BUSINESS/BUSINESS CASUAL:
SUITS/BLAZERS/CARDIGANS – business/business casual
SHIRTS/BLOUSES – not sheer or low cut
SKIRTS/DRESSES – professional style, knee length
PANTS – business or business casual
SHOES/BOOTS – closed toe and 3″ heel or lower
BELTS – all widths and lengths
COATS & JACKETS – lightweight and heavyweight
HANDBAGS – mainly large black purses
PORTFOLIOS – None monogrammed
BRIEFCASES JEWELRY – especially silver-toned and long necklaces.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT:
Wool items except winter coats, Linens due to the wrinkling nature, Pull-over sweaters, and Turtlenecks
