Amelia’s Closet Fourth Annual Project ReStyle – A Fashion Face-Off for a Cause!
Murfreesboro, TN – April 8, 2026

Get ready to unleash your inner fashionista! Amelia’s Closet is thrilled to announce the fourth annual Project ReStyle presented by Old National Bank. A fashion design competition fundraiser, happening Tuesday, April 21, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Liberty’s Station, 850 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN.

“Project ReStyle brings together fashion, creativity, and community to support women working toward sustainable employment,” said Jody Powers, Amelia’s Closet’s founding executive director. “With more than 100 enthusiastic attendees, our audience is mission-driven, engaged, and eager to support women who are rebuilding their lives with dignity and independence.”

“The gently used clothing generously provided by our donors is the spark behind this design competition, now celebrating its fourth year,” said Powers. “Competitors will work their magic by transforming gently used pieces into show-stopping, one-of-a-kind looks. Local fashion professionals, including MTSU Fashion Professor Jasmin Kwon, will vote to determine the Grand Prize design..”

Individuals and groups of up to three were invited to craft an outfit using at least four different clothing items plus their own special touches. All designs are created ahead of time and displayed on mannequins at the event.

Attendees are invited to vote for their favorite head-turning ensembles, enjoy modeling of styles from Amelia’s Closet, and hear uplifting stories from clients whose lives have been transformed.

Attendees can also try their luck at the silent auction and door prizes, shop Amelia’s Closet’s expanded AC Garage Boutique, and treat themselves to mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres from Tasty Table and sweet delights from Let’s Eat Catering. Every guest will also go home with a swag bag.

Now part of The Collective at Building Hope, Amelia’s Closet has been empowering women in need for 12 years— providing professional outfits, interview coaching, and a strong dose of hope and confidence. Through partnerships with nearly 50 local organizations, including Doors of Hope, Greenhouse Ministries, and The Domestic Violence Shelter, countless women have been supported on their journey to new careers and financial independence.

“Securing a job gives hope and purpose,” explained Powers. “For women facing tough transitions, a professional first impression can make all the difference. That’s our mission: to help our clients go from crisis to career with dignity and confidence.”

This year’s event takes place at Liberty’s Station, a special nonprofit café and event space under The Collective’s umbrella, which champions job training for people with disabilities.

The Collective at Building Hope, a 501(c)3 organization, works to reduce poverty in the Middle Tennessee community through Amelia’s Closet by providing disadvantaged women with professional apparel, interview coaching, and the hope and confidence they need to achieve sustainable employment and financial stability.
